I want to share this video with you because its talks about supporting English language learners in the classroom. Its shows how children are able to understand what is being said to them even before they know or understand individual words in English. So, the teachers use different techniques to interact with children, who sometimes speak other languages (Spanish, Chinese, etc), because communication is a fundamental part of learning. This video shows how using intonation, gestures, facial expressions (body language), pictures and other clues can help children to improve their learning process. Another important method mentioned in the video is Total Physical Response. It said that the teacher should make the students enjoy this process of learning to communicate in a foreign language through performing the actions themselves. It is important the teacher speaks in the children´s first language and we can see how significant is for them the teacher always acts in a tolerant way.
